Our Active trips strike the perfect balance between movement and meaning. You’ll dive into days filled with scenic walks, cultural hikes, and a few early starts—all designed to help you soak in every incredible moment. With
a few in-country flights and hotel swaps along the way, there’s always something new on the horizon.
How you’ll feel after: Energized and enriched—with a
camera roll of sights, a head full of stories, and a heart that’s been fully in it from beginning to end.
If your perfect day includes slow sips of coffee, easy exploring, and time to simply be in a place, our Relaxed
trips are calling your name. You’ll enjoy light activities and cultural highlights at a gentler pace—with long lunches, cozy stays, and fewer early alarms.
How you’ll feel after: Rested and fulfilled—with just the right mix of discovery and downtime. You’ll have seen iconic sights, uncovered hidden gems, and still had space to sit back, breathe, and be in the moment.
Our trips are thoughtfully designed for women who want to explore the world, blending culture and food, connection and community, adventure and play.
Hi, I'm Ashley. Born on a farm in small-town Iowa, I’ve always had a wild curiosity for the world. After years of planning and traveling to incredible places like Ecuador, Iceland, Thailand, and Spain—I've learned how powerful it is when women come together to experience the world. Today, I live in Des Moines with my partner Bradd and our blended family of seven (yes, seven!). And I’ve turned my passion for planning + travel into something bigger—a community for women like you.
I believe travel should be:
Accessible (not only for special occasions)
Meaningful (not just photo ops)
Shared (because connection multiplies the magic)

Your trip includes accommodations, most meals, group activities, local guides, and transportation within the itinerary. International flights, travel insurance, and personal expenses (like shopping or extra excursions) are not included. Prices start at $2,750.
In general, I like to make sure these components exist on the trip: culture, adventure, relaxation, local food, time to shop, and when possible, a spa visit. You should expect a mix of guided activity and free time on your own to explore by yourself or with fellow travelers.
Yes. You are responsible for booking your international flight to and from the destination. Airport transportation is also not included, but we are happy to assist with coordinating it for an additional fee. Any in-country domestic flights during the trip are included in the overall trip cost.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. Travel insurance is required. It protects you in case of trip cancellations, medical emergencies, or unexpected travel disruptions. I can coordinate this on your behalf.
How should I prepare for any visa or vaccine requirements?
It is your responsibility to ensure you have a valid passport (most countries require it to be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel date), obtain any necessary visas, and meet vaccine or health requirements for your destination.
Here are a few helpful resources to get started:
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories.html/
https://apply.joinsherpa.com/travel-restrictions
We recommend checking these sites early and frequently, as requirements can change. If you have questions or need support, we're happy to help point you in the right direction.
We offer a deposit-based payment plan, with a final payment due a few months before departure. Please contact me for specific details.
Yes! I can arrange additional activities, extra nights at the hotel, and transport to and from the airport. However, booking the international flight is up to you.
What safety precautions are taken on the trip?
Your safety is a top priority. We avoid areas that are a high risk and work with local experts to ensure safety. Accommodations are vetted, and we follow local safety guidelines.
We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences. Before the trip, you'll complete an intake form where you can share any food allergies, intolerances, or dietary needs. We will use this information to work with local providers and restaurants to ensure you're well taken care of.
All scheduled activities are included in the trip cost, but you're always welcome to sit out on an activity if you'd prefer to rest or do something else on your own. That said, it's important to stay with the group for all transitions between locations. Please note that no refunds will be given for any included activities you choose to skip.
What type of woman should join this trip?
Any woman who is looking for an international adventure and open to sharing the experience with other women. This could include solo adventurers, moms looking for a getaway, women in career transitions, and those who want to experience a new culture in a supportive group setting. Everyone should come with an open mind and a shared love for travel.
Why should I join the trip if I don’t have a travel buddy?
One of the best parts of joining our women’s travel group is that you don’t need a friend to sign up! The trips are designed for women who want to explore the world but don’t have a built-in travel tribe. You’ll meet other women who share your desire to travel, and by the end of the trip, you’ll likely leave with new friends for future travels!
If you are traveling solo and don’t want to pay extra for a private room, we’ll match you with a roommate based on your preferences. If you are signed up with a friend and want to book a room together, just let me know! Private room upgrades may be available for an extra cost.
Are there any age restrictions?
The minimum age requirement is 21. There are no maximum age restrictions. Individuals will need to ensure they are comfortable with the level of activity required for the trip.
I prioritize accommodations that are reasonably priced, authentic, and have character whenever possible. Rarely do we stay at large franchise hotels. I prefer places that reflect the culture of the destination. I create an intentional balance between cost and character. The reality is that in many countries where I like to travel, you can get a lot more for the money than what you expect in the US for the same cost.
We will do our best to accommodate individuals with mobility limitations. However, some destinations offered by the Travelista Collective may have fewer accessibility options than you are used to in the United States. If you have specific needs, let's talk to determine if the trip is a good fit. Also, see definitions of Active vs. Relaxed trips for more context.
